As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with Caring Companions In-Home Senior Care, you’ll provide personal and advanced care to help clients live safely and comfortably in their homes. CNAs assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support. You’ll also provide bed-bound care, use gait belts and Hoyer lifts for safe transfers, and help maintain the client’s comfort, safety, and dignity. Additional responsibilities include observing and reporting changes in condition, documenting daily care, and offering emotional support and companionship. This role is ideal for CNAs who value meaningful, one-on-one care and want to make a difference in the lives of seniors and adults with disabilities across our community.
Typical Tasks:
Light housekeeping (dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming)
Laundry, folding, and changing bed linens
Meal planning and preparation
Grocery shopping and errands
Washing dishes and kitchen clean-up
Organizing household items and supplies
Taking out trash and maintaining tidiness
Watering plants or caring for small pets (if approved)
Reporting home safety concerns or maintenance issues
Typical Tasks:
Friendly conversation and companionship
Playing games, reading aloud, or sharing hobbies
Accompanying clients on walks or outings
Providing reminders for meals, hydration, and activities
Writing letters, helping with light correspondence, or simple computer use
Encouraging participation in light exercise or community activities
Monitoring general well-being and mood
Providing comfort and reassurance
Assist clients with bathing, dressing, and grooming
Support toileting and incontinence care
Help clients with mobility and transfers (using gait belts, walkers, or Hoyer lifts)
Assist with oral hygiene, hair care, shaving, and skincare
Provide bed-bound care, including turning and repositioning
Monitor nutrition and hydration, assisting with feeding when needed
Help clients maintain personal hygiene and comfort throughout the day
Observe and report changes in condition (skin, appetite, mobility, mood)
Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure)
Track intake and output when required
Document daily care activities accurately in client notes or EVV system
Communicate any health concerns promptly to supervising nurse or care coordinator
Assist with range-of-motion exercises or positioning plans
Support with catheter care, ostomy care, or wound observation under nurse supervision
Follow care plans developed by RNs or LPNs
Use proper body mechanics and transfer techniques for client and caregiver safety
Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Missouri
Experience providing personal or advanced care in a home care, facility, or hospital setting (preferred)
Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility using gait belts, walkers, or Hoyer lifts
Strong understanding of infection control and safety procedures
Excellent communication and observation skills
Compassionate, reliable, and attentive to detail
Must be able to safely assist clients with mobility as needed, including occasional lifting or transferring 50 pounds.
Must pass a background check
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
